Suncity School hosted a career counselling session for the parents of students of classes VII-X on Saturday, 18th November 2023 at 1100 hours. Mr. Abhishek Gupta, a renowned career counsellor, recipient of the prestigious Times Education Icon 2019 and the founder of Asia’s biggest parent, student and educator community-High School Moms, was invited as the keynote speaker. In his address to the parents and students, Mr. Gupta presented an extensive overview of the diverse career options available to the students of today. He covered upcoming fields such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and sustainable development along with the more conventional career choices. The focus of the session was the rapidly changing world of education, career and future jobs. Mr. Gupta, in his address, emphasised on the benefits of pursuing international curriculum, namely Cambridge Assessment International Education and International Baccalaureate (IB) to develop an international outlook and prepare for the challenges of the future. He addressed major areas of concern for students such as entrance exams, importance of IGCSE and IB courses, scholarships, college options and more. The parents listened to the speaker with rapt attention and raised important concerns and questions regarding the career options discussed in the session. The session proved to be a meaningful exchange of ideas and helped initiate a dialogue around the most important concern for parents and students alike-‘Careers.’
